With the frenzy of the holidays, I wanted to focus on a serene and peaceful feeling.
‘Peaceful Holiday’ is a collection of abstracted landscapes on small canvases as well as some work on paper.
The colors are muted and feel calm to me. However, I added some deep greens and pops of color to keep them interesting.
I layered oil pastels, oil sticks, and charcoal over the paint, and to keep things clean and simple, I painted the canvases’ edges white. After they were complete, I sealed each piece with a gloss varnish.
