THAT ITALIAN SUMMER COLLECTION

I began painting this collection as abstracts, focusing on a color palette inspired by a collection I painted a few years ago. I particularly like the transparent layers and the loose brushstrokes. I'm going back to Italy this summer, and this trip must have been in my mind because as these evolve, they become less abstract and more Italian.

As the paintings evolved, they became less abstract and more Italian in nature. So, I continued to paint and thought about the Amalfi coast, the Italian Riviera, and many other beautiful places along the coast - the colors, the food, the wine, the history, the architecture, and the Italian people.

Oh, and the Aperol Spritz.
